At present the Internet goes on to increase at breakneck speed against the background of other industries. There is a vast number of new technologies, utilities and new ideas constantly flooding the World Wide Web, some of them acquiring mass popularity. New series of social networks, akin to micro-blogging, Twitter, Google, Buzz, have now become more and more widespread.

All these features provide any business proprietor with powerful tools for getting in touch with their desired audience and maintaining a stable relationship as well as keeping them well informed of the goings on of their business.

There are also some tricks alternatives to E-mail Marketing, such as RSS, enabling you to sign up for different sorts of newsletters, information feeds, etc. But, to be honest, can all these tricks fully and suitably supplant the E-Mail Marketing?

Social Networks.
There are now hundreds of millions of people all over the world using social network sites, and a considerable number of them practically live online. It is a huge phenomenon! But, does Social Network Marketing indeed have enough importance over the Internet to completely supplant E-Mail Marketing? Let's figure it out.

One of the most important things while advertising your business is to promote to your special-purpose audience. It will do you no good if you’re promoting your business to the wrong group of consumers. I believe that holding your own mailing list of subscribers allows you to easily reach the customers that will be concerned by what you intend to offer.

Here is why:

1. Email list subscribers sign up of their own accord. This doesn't occur by chance, because people who subscribe to your distribution list must surely be interested in your business, unlike how many users usually become part of some social network communities.

2. In each of your E-mails you can address readers personally, by name, as well as use other data to personalize the message as much as possible for each recipient.

3. People are more inclined to check their e-mail boxes in order to read the e-mails directly addressed to them, (a feature that Social Network Advertising is is still missing).

4. There is also a very important thing I have not mentioned yet: The price! Once you have created your goal E-mail list, it costs you nothing to market to this group of people later. Constant marketing practices such as SEM can be rather costly, not that it’s bad and you shouldn’t use SEM, but E-mail marketing is a solution that can really help enlarge your ROI.

Finally, the main argument for E-mail-Marketing is that you'll be able to consolidate your base of clients into one list in order to use it for further promotion, to supply your clientele with different types of information (your current business news, information about new features and discounts, interesting propositions) and finally make your sales funnel. As of now, there is no more reasonable solution to resolve these issues than E-mail-Marketing.

What is more, you can always reach your goal audience in a personal manner and in the shortest amount of time. No other method will allow you to achieve these benefits on a constant basis and with minimum expenses.
